I had a [competitor] router for years that worked reliably until recently when it started having intermittent issues causing a reboot. I determined it must be time to replace it. Naturally, I bought another [competitor] product, their top-of-the-line home router [competitor’s router]. I got it home and had all kinds of issues trying to get it set up. I should have read the other customers' feedback before buying it. It was a nightmare to configure, their wireless connections were degraded to the point of looking like a dial-up connection. I was furious so promptly returned it the next day.
I had never had a D-Link product before so I bought a new DIR-825 yesterday and installed it. The installation was easy and I had it configured for WEP on the 2.4 GHz band, and WPA on the 5.0 GHz band. Both are using MAC address filtering. I love the included trial product Network Magic Pro and plan on buying it.
Kudos for shipping a product that works correctly out of the box.
I have worked as a software developer for 20+ years and usually stay away from version 1.0 anything. Congratulations for getting this one right!
